Features of contents insurance
Full contents insurance features include
insurance against accidental loss, theft or damage of the contents of your home and other personal belongings  
replacement of many major household items, however old they are—optional extra cover for high value items  
covers a range of extras e.g. replacing lost or stolen keys; a stress payment of $1000 if you lose everything  
home business cover up to $10,000  
up to $5000 cover for your personal effects for maximum of 3 weeks if you travel to Australia or the Pacific Islands.  
What does contents insurance cover?
Full contents insurance covers a range of extras, as well as cover for your household contents and personal belongings against accidental loss, theft or damage.

Full contents insurance excess
The excess is the amount you pay towards a claim yourself.
The minimum excess is
$250 for each claim if you own the house you live in, or you live in a rented property by yourself or with family members  
$300 for each claim if you live with flatmates or the house is your holiday home  
$550 for each claim if the house is a rental property.  
If you’re 55 or over you can pay more for your insurance and have no excess at all. You need to be living in your own home or in a rented property by yourself or with family members.
Reduce your full contents cover premiums
With our full contents insurance policy, you
can increase the excess and save money on premiums  
can save on your premiums if you have an alarm installed by an approved alarm installer  
won’t have to pay your standard policy excess if you have a monitored alarm that is activated if your home is burgled and a registered security guard responds to the alarm  
can get a special discount if you’re 50 years old or over  
can get a 10% discount on your premium if you live in your own home and insure it with us.
