| The Government has announced that a number of residential properties in the Waimakariri District have been reclassified as in the 'red zone' by the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA). The offer of support to red zone residents which we communicated back in June applies to these residents in the Waimakariri District who have been rezoned as 'red' by the CERA. |

| Westpac is offering a special discount of 2.59% off its current floating home loan rate for Christchurch residents in the Government’s residential Red Zone, giving a current effective floating rate of 3.65% p.a. |

Offer details
- This discount offer is open to those Christchurch residents who qualify for and take up the Government’s offer to buy their property in the Red Zone.
- The discount will apply to Westpac’s current floating home loan rate for the initial 12 months of the home loan
- The discount will apply on loan amounts up to the value of $500,000
- Loan to be drawn down before 31 December 2012.
- New customers to Westpac must also have their salary credited to a Westpac account

Any break costs incurred by Red Zone residents wishing to repay their existing Westpac fixed rate loans early will be waived.
