What are email and txt alerts?
With email and txt alerts you can keep track of your Online Banking activity, bank account and credit card information.

Choose what types of alerts you would like to receive and when you want to receive them, for example, when a new credit card bill is available online or when changes are made to your Online Banking settings.

What do email and txt alerts cost?
It’s free to register and there’s no monthly fee.
Email alerts are free. Txt alert charges are as follows:
Txts you receive
You'll get 10 free txts from Westpac each month. You can use these free txts for txt alerts and Txt banking balances and transfer confirmations
Additional txts costs 25c each to receive*
Txts you send
As with regular txt messages, your mobile phone company will charge you for each txt you send to Westpac, for example, when you request an account balance or transfer through Txt Banking. Please contact your provider for details of their fees and charges.

What do I need to register for email and txt alerts?
To register for email alerts you need to
be an Online Banking customer
have an email address
To register for txt alerts you need to be
an Online Banking customer and
have a mobile phone registered for ‘Banking on your mobile’ service.

When are email and txt alerts sent?
If you have asked us to alert you when your account balance goes over or under a certain level, we’ll check your account every few hours between 7am and 9.30pm and txt you when we see that your account has reached that point.**
email alerts can be sent out 24 hours a day, seven days a week
txt alerts can be sent out daily between 7am and 9:30pm
*If you are registered for Txt banking as well as txt alerts, these charges will be paid from your main Westpac bank account. If you are only registered for txt alerts, you will be charged from your first available account in Online Banking.
